My First Rraw PH Haul – Organic and Cruelty-Free Body Frosting, Cucumber Tonic, Konjac Sponge, and Citrus Mint Lip Balm

The search is on for naturally made products in the market. The first time I laid my eyes on Rraw PH was thru Instagram because of their very enticing product shots! That’s also the start of my continuous stalking on their Instagram feed. No lie! You have to see for yourself. In addition to the sweet and tempting images that induces you to hit that add to cart button, here are the best things I love about Rraw PH: Organic, natural, and cruelty-free products that let you embrace the skin you’re in and appreciate Mother Earth! “For the Bare and Beautiful.”

Poprocks Body Frosting – Php 299

Rraw PH’s Body Frosting is the main reason why I immediately purchased from their online store. I fell in love with the watermelon and popcorn scent till I formed a habit of smelling it from time to time loljk! Beneath the luscious scent lies earth-friendly and natural scrubbing particles which are apricot seeds, natural moisturizers such as Virgin Coconut Oil and Jojoba Oil, and Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol (95% pure, natural fatty oil derived from coconut oil) which also softens the skin.  The texture is creamy and feels velvety when rubbed in the skin.
This Body Frosting not only gently exfoliates, but works as a moisturizer too. You don’t need to apply lotion after taking a bath and no need to use soap too so it really does the job well, I must say. My skin felt smooth af! Take note that this 130 G tub can be consumed for weeks ’cause a little application goes a long way.

Hero Tip: Choose personal care products that don’t contain polyethylene beads (plastic microbeads) to help save marine life!

Cucumber Tonic (Toner) – Php 199

Rraw PH’s Cucumber Tonic is ALCOHOL-FREE – It doesn’t get better than this! Here’s why you should ditch your alcohol-based face toners: Bad alcohol (Ethanol, denatured alcohol, Ethyl alcohol, Methanol, Benzyl alcohol, Isopropyl alcohol, SD alcohol) dries the skin and causes irritation. As you may have noticed, when you rub alcohol between your palms, it dries so quickly. This also means that the skin’s natural acid mantle is being stripped away by alcohol. Our natural acid mantle acts as a barrier to bacteria, viruses, and other irritants that could penetrate into our skin. Thus, alcohol makes the skin more prone to these unwanted particles.
Alkaline water is the better alternative because it balances your skin’s PH level and relieves dry, irritated skin. Aside from Alkaline water, Cucumber Tonic’s ingredients also include natural astringents such as cucumber juice, oil, and extract which are well-know for their soothing and healing effect to irritated skin and Witch Hazel extract which decreases excess oils in the skin. After using Cucumber Tonic for 3 days, I can attest that my sensitive skin didn’t feel any irritation. The natural formula is great for all skin types and can also be used as a make-up primer because tightens the pores.

Green Tea Konjac Sponge – Php 149

I have just discovered another Asian beauty secret and it’s the Konjac Sponge. Based on my research, it originated in an Indochinese region and later on introduced to Japan. The Japanese people first started using the Konjac Sponge to cleanse a baby’s skin because of its very soft texture when soaked in water (it’s hard when dry).

Rraw PH offers 4 variants of the Konjac Sponge:
1. Green Tea – Infused with antioxidants that protect the skin from damaging effects caused by free radicals. Ideal for oily and combination skin.
2. Sensitive – Red clay makes your skin more supple. Ideal for sensitive and dry skin.
3. Bamboo Charcoal – Bamboo Charcoal controls the sebum production and exfoliates dead skin cells. Ideal for acne-prone skin.
4. Pure – 100% pure Konjac root. Ideal for normal skin.

Konjac Sponge is much softer than loofah. To use it, soak it first in warm water (to easily open your pores) for a few minutes until it turns as soft as puto (a Filipino delicacy). Gently squeeze out excess water then you may add a small amount of cleanser and start massaging it on your face/body. Konjac Sponge effectively helps remove bacteria, make-up, dead skin cells, and other chemicals that are stuck in our pores. After usage, rinse it with water and gently press it between your palms. Hang, let it dry, and keep it away from humid areas.

It’s 100% natural, vegan and cruelty-free (made from vegetable fibers), 100% biodegradable  and sustainable! Compost it after 2-3 months.

Mint Citrus Lip Balm – Php 149

IMG_7770-2

Are you the type of girl who is contented with just petroleum jelly on the lips? You might want to throw that thing away when I tell you that despite its harmless look, it has something you’ll regret for using.. It’s unsustainable, has carcinogenic compounds, and can also block your pores making it difficult to cleanse the skin. Canada and Europe have banned petroleum jelly-based cosmetics and now it’s your turn. Move on and switch to Beeswax-based lip balms. Rraw PH’s Mint Citrus Lip Balm only provides the most natural ingredients you’ll enjoy. It has Coconut Oil which is a moisturizing and antibacterial agent, Cocoa Butter that prevents dry and chapped lips, Peppermint for that minty sensation, and Pineapple which has Vitamin C and gives off a natural and tropical dab. Summer lips, anyone?

Overall in my haul, the scent, texture, ingredients, and result of these products definitely came up to my expectations for someone who is meticulous over skincare products. I began opting for natural and organic stuff when the condition of my contact dermatitis worsened. Better late than sorry. I finally found a brand I can constantly support.. A brand that does no harm to animals and makes earth a better place to live in. After all, we also deserve to get our money’s worth, right?

Thanks for reading! 🙂
